Recognizing that not all students have access to 826LA's writing labs, we bring specially trained volunteers directly into under-resourced public schools. These volunteers offer one-on-one support for writing projects, helping students develop their skills and confidence. We collaborate closely with educators to design projects that both engage students and address specific curricular needs. Each year, 826LA visits numerous schools within the Los Angeles Unified School District and hosts Writers’ Rooms at Manual Arts High School, Roosevelt High School, and Venice High School, creating supportive environments for student growth.

We invite educators to partner with us in this mission—together, we can empower students to express themselves and succeed in their writing journeys

Spotlight on Student Publications: Inspire Your Classroom

At 826LA, we believe every student has a story worth sharing. Our student publications feature the creativity and unique voices of young writers, developed through our workshops, tutoring, and in-class programs. From poetry anthologies to imaginative zines, each piece reflects the hard work and creativity of students ages 6 to 18.
