What if LA had public transit like New York? What if New York had weather like LA? What if every skyscraper in Chicago was made of ruby chocolate, and waves of ice-cold cream soda lapped at the shores of Lake Michigan? That might not be safe. But what does your perfect city look like? From Wakanda’s Birnin Zana to Oz’s Emerald City to Middle Earth’s Rivendell, fictional utopias have captured our imaginations for centuries.

In a new workshop from published fiction writer, longtime citizen of cities, and renowned workshop workshopper Trevor Crown, students will have the opportunity to visualize, map out, and write a story set in the metropolis of their dreams.

Join us on Saturday, December 7th, from 1 to 3 PM at the Echo Park Time Travel Mart and Writing Lab for our annual Holiday Mart! This year, we’re excited to unveil our latest holiday window display created by Clover Scout, celebrating 826LA’s 20th anniversary. Shop from local community businesses, stock up on your time travel essentials and enjoy sweet treats and cider while you find the perfect holiday gifts.
