FAQs

  • What if I have completed a background check for another organization or for work? Can I use that background check?

    • No. Live Scan background checks are non-transferable between organizations. Volunteers are required to complete this step regardless of prior background checks.

  • What if I am under 18 years old and do not have any of the forms of valid photo identification?

    • In this instance, please have a parent or guardian accompany you to Orientation or your off-site Live Scan appointment.

  • Is any action required of me after I complete the background check?

    • No. We will reach out to you with further instructions if there is a delay or if your check was rejected due to an unclear fingerprint scan. Once we receive your results, you will be notified by email that you are ready to start volunteering!
