Partners in Time Salon Recap: Discussions of Family, Spirituality, and “When the Moon Is Up”

Authors Reza Aslan and Jessica Jackley hosted a salon for 826LA Partners in Time members at their Los Angeles home. The intimate event featured readings from the 826LA Young Author’s Book Project publication When the Moon Is Up and a Q&A about the couple’s upcoming work.

On Sunday afternoon, at the home of Reza Aslan and Jessica Jackley, 826LA young authors Lily B. and Andy M. read from the 826LA publication When the Moon is Up for an intimate group of 826LA Partners in Time members  gathered in the garden.

The readings were followed by a lively Q&A led by Reza and Jessica with an introduction to their upcoming projects. This fall, the couple will be launching a podcast about raising spiritual children. Reza will also be releasing his new book God: A Human History published by Penguin Random House. In the spring, the couple and their three boys plan to embark on a trip around the the globe to explore the world’s religions as a family. The journey will culminate in the first book co-authored by the couple.

Lily B. and Andy M. are participants from the 2017 Young Authors’ Book Project When the Moon Is Up. In this publication, students from Locke High School depict the modern lives of youth in transformative stories about responsibility, family, loss, and courage.

The salon was a chance for Partners in Time to once again engage in stimulating conversation, mingle with fellow 826LA supporters, and learn about the impact of their support on the community.

826LA thanks our generous hosts Jessica and Reza for a wonderful and thoughtful afternoon!
