Did you know that the first-ever National Readathon Day will take place this Saturday, January 24? Being the book-lovers that we are, we’re pretty excited for this day set aside to dive into a few good reads. The event was created by Penguin Random House, GoodReads, Mashable, and the National Book Foundation, and as supporters of youth literacy, we’re all for it!

To commemorate the occasion, 826LA is hosting a giveaway of a dozen books, written in our field trip program by creative and talented Los Angeles students with the hugest imaginations you’ll probably ever encounter. The books are a mix of collaboratively written stories, Choose Your Own Adventure books, and poetry collections masterpieces, featuring eccentric characters and equally dynamic plots.

The titles alone are enthralling:
• The Adventures of Bamboo & Jumbo: Tale of the Missing Ninja
• The Big Cash: Adventures in Time With Bob and Rebecca
• Dolphin, The Light of My Day & Other Poems
• Evil Moms, Rock Monsters, and Robots: A Mars Space Colony Adventure
• Jacob and Ashleigh: A Mud-Covered Adventure With Two One-of-a-Kind Animals
• The Moustache Thief
• Rock Paper Paw: The Friends Who Couldn’t Get Along
• Ryan and Chrydron’s Royal Adventure
• The Search of the Century: Where’s Mike?
• Stay, Leroy, Stay & Other Poems for a Peer-Pressured Lemming
