Who: 75 LAUSD high school seniors + 75 826LA volunteers (that’s you!)
What: One-on-one writing support as students write scholarship essays

College counselors will choose three scholarships for each student to apply to. We will have a folder on the day of the event with three chosen scholarship prompts along with their UC Personal Insight Questions responses and/or CSU EOP responses. You will sit with one student and over the course of four hours help them shape their personal statements into polished essays for scholarship prompts so that they stand out compared to the hundreds of other students applying for the same scholarship.

Only 826LA volunteers who attended Scholarship Day and/or The Great LA Personal Statement Weekend in 2015 or 2016 or The New UC Essays Training in 2016 or 2017 are able to participate in this event.
