Writing Takes Student All The Way to New York

826LA always tells students that their writing can take them to unexpected places. On August 20th, writing took Keven E., 10, all the way to New York City!

Earlier this summer, Target enlisted 826LA students to write advertisements for the back-to-school season. Keven’s writing is featured in one of these ads, called “My Mysterious Pencil”:

“In third grade, I learned that we all make mistakes. But it’s all about how you fix them. Mistakes – there not so scary.”

The spots have been hugely successful and have garnered national attention. Last week, Keven appeared alongside a student director and student stylist on The Today Show to discuss the making of Target’s completely kid-created Back to School advertisements.
