The Writers’ Room Gallery

Room 240 at Manual Arts High School has been a computer lab, an administration office, and a classroom. In 2015, it became the 826LA Writers’ Room: a dedicated space for students to write. Together with trained volunteers, students have have outlined personal statements for their college applications, worked on persuasive speeches, tackled research essays, and much more.

If you’ve visited 826LA’s Writers’ Room, you might remember a collection of framed quotes on the walls. Like portraits painted with words, these quotes stick with you. Their writers are none other than Manual Arts students. Teachers have looked at the wall and said, “Hey, I had that student in my class. Wow!”

Explore the gallery of quotes from young writers that hang in the 826LA Writers’ Room and get stuck too.
