826LA is partnering with Paramount Pictures and the movie IF to celebrate childhood creativity and imagination through three 826 student writing anthologies—Big Book of IFs by young writers from 826LA and 826 Valencia, Big Book of IFs by young writers from 826CHI, 826michigan, 826 MSP, and 826 New Orleans, and Big Book of IFs by young writers from 826 Boston, 826DC, and 826NYC all part of 826National!
Blue from “If (Imaginary Friends)” brought joy and excitement to our Echo Park Write On! After School students during a special event, thanks to our partnership with Paramount Pictures.
The meet and greet session was filled with laughter and fun as students enjoyed taking pictures, sharing hugs, and playing “Ky by Bo” with Blue. It was heartwarming to witness these young authors interact with a movie character. Many of the students were already familiar with Blue, not only from the movie trailer but also from the “Imaginary Friends” activity led a few weeks ago during our after school program.
For the “Imaginary Friend” Activity the students were given a prompt to write about their own imaginary friend. During the meet and greet, they enthusiastically shared stories about their imaginary friends while Blue cheered them on. It was a memorable experience for everyone involved, showcasing the power of imagination and storytelling.
