The 2017 Inaugural Half Half Half Half Half Marathon: A Race to Raise $42,000+ to Benefit 826LA!
We raced with balloons between us and our legs tied together. We competed in a human ring toss and had a battle of wits with life-size Scrabble. We wound our way through trees balancing books on our heads. We wrote impromptu poetry inspired by words from a 2-acre poetry field and read it aloud to the crowds.
Best of all, we raced to raise over $42,000 to benefit 826LA’s free writing programs for over 9,000 Los Angeles youth!
Of course, no race is complete without celebrating our valiant winners:
1st Place Team: The Mispellings
2nd Place Team: Just Another Manic Run Day + The Non-Runners Club
3rd Place Team: The Blazers (A Jacket Required)
Best Individual Costume: Neil Laigne, Team B-Reely Fast, dressed as Max from Where the Wild Things Are
Best Team Costume: 826LA Strikes Back, dressed as Star Wars characters, obviously
