Summer Writing Series: Mally’s “Dear Mr. Cheeseburger”

IMG_4073All summer long we’ll be sharing some student writing from our five-week English Language Learner Camp. This piece, written during Food Week by eight-year-old Mally, who is attending camp at our Echo Park center, is a letter to her favorite food.

Dear Mr. Cheeseburger,

I am coming for your cheeseburger family. I am not trying to eat you. I am very sorry. It’s just business. I am going to buy you at In-N-Out. But you’re not the only ones getting eaten. I’ll eat the soda family. Let’s see what’s next on the letter. Oh maybe the father or the baby in the soda family is the most delectable. I am imagining you taste cheesy. I hope your buns are hot. I am really hungry so I will be there soon.

Love,
Mally
