In this field trip, students from a local Los Angeles Unified School District school join us to explore storytelling through a nonfiction lens.

Led by 826LA staff and volunteers, students in this field trip reflect on their lives and unpack important moments, events, and memories that have shaped their identities. With the help of volunteers and focused small group work, students spend time crafting a collective class memoir, followed by individual outlines and the first page of their own personal narrative or memoir. Students learn about the importance of using details and, more importantly, the power of their own individual story
