Students in this workshop will be ages 10 and up.

Take a deep breath as we walk through nature and explore the extraordinary neighborhood that is Mar Vista! Students will focus on the sounds that you hear to create poems. Finally, we will record their writing for the Poem-Booth located in our Time Travel Mart, highlighting their own voices as part of the neighborhood’s music.

This workshop will be led by Brent Armendinger. Brent is the author of “The Ghost in Us Was Multiplying,” a finalist for the California Book Award in Poetry. He teaches creative writing at Pitzer College.
