Good Times staff ate and wrote about this snack.

Good Times staff ate and wrote about this snack.

At this week’s workshop, our budding journalists tackled food reviews – make that SNACK reviews: Baked Cheetos, one or two powdered donut holes and Gummi cola bottles. Here’s how the snacks fared at 826LA Echo Park:

Tasty Donut Holes

By Jackson

Donut holes have powdered sugar. The inside is different because it is bread and the outside is powder. You should eat this if you have a sweet tooth. You can make it with powder sugar and soft bread. You should have water because these donuts will make you thirsty. They look like snowballs. The bad thing about this is that it doesn’t grow on trees.

Snack rating:10 out of 10

Tasty Cheetos

By Jackson

The essence of Cheetos is good and cheesy. It is good because it is small so you don’t eat too many. It looks white-orangish. You can make people buy it by letting them try it. They taste orange because they use cheddar cheese and cheddar is orange. They use a lot of cornmeal. You should buy this for your kids so they have a snack for school.

Snack rating: 9 out of 10

The ‘Bestest’ Donut

By Vince

The looks are white and they look like snowballs. The only difference about it is that the donut looks different from the outside. The rating is 10. I bet everyone would rate it that way. The name is donut holes because they come from holes. It tastes like soft snow.

Snack rating: 10 out of 10

The Orange Cheetos

by Vince

The taste is good and cheesy. The color is orange because the guys that bake it are orange. It’s baked not cooked. The ‘bestest’ thing about it is that it has no transfat. The other bestest thing about it is that it’s delicious, yummy, tasty, scrumptious. Cheetos is a treat for indoors and out.

All About Donut Holes

By Oscar

We ate and we wrote!

These donuts are called donut holes. They are very soft and white and look like snowballs and golf balls. They are sugary and chewy; they have powdered sugar and are shaped like a circle. They are brown on the inside and like a cake and not healthy. Messy and mostly for dessert.

Rating: 8 out of 10

The Cheesy, Crunchy Cheetos

By Alanis, Carmen and Ricardo

The bright, orange Cheetos are a baked snack that’s tasty and super cheesy. They are crunchy don’t have any transfat, and they come in little bags, so it’s a good snack to take to school. No two Cheetos look alike. Some look like boots and some look like a sleeping bag and a sock.

Snack rating 4 out of 5 stars.

Haribo Happy Colas are a Chewy Appetizer

By Alanis, Carmen and Ricardo

Los Angeles – If you’re going to the store looking for a candy and you like stuff that’s chewy and sweet, you could pick up Haribo colas. The semi-transparent candies are cheap and if you aren’t careful they’ll slip out of your hands. The brown bottle-shaped treats are three for $3 so that’s a good way to spend your money.

The Powdery Donuts

By Alanis, Carmen and Ricardo

Powdered sugar donut holes will leave a residue on your hand. They’re sphere-shaped and slippery and cost $2.99 for 24 donut holes – a good deal for your $3. Be sure to have a glass of water because these donuts will make you thirsty. They have a lot of ingredients and they’re not that healthy, but they are cool to the touch. They look like a little snowballs.
