			1 In School: Cultural Treasures Community Healing at Roosevelt 7:45 AM The 10th graders of CNMT at Roosevelt High School will choose a cultural treasure they want to know more about and will conduct field research and then write either a personal narrative, a transcribed interview, a biography, or a poem. In-school: Personal Statements at Ramon Cortines 10:18 AM Juniors/11th graders compose their personal statements for the college entrance application process and focus their narratives and to elaborate on one area that will accurately depict who they are based on their individual experiences and who they want to become with the guidance of a college education. After-School Tutoring 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM After-School Tutoring at 826LA in Venice and 826LA in Echo Park Work it! Work it! (a job-ready workshop) 6:30 PM Over the course of four weeks, you’ll get guidance in writing your résumé from people who know what it’s like to work: adults. And you’ll even get the chance to practice your interviewing skills with these same people. Viva Mar Vista (formerly The Venice Wave), Volume I, issue iii 7:00 PM 826LA publishes Viva Mar Vista on a six-week cycle. Generally, students research and write for four weeks, take a week off, then release the newspaper. Each week they will work on several writing prompts and then choose one piece to work on with tutors.
