People who helped make our center possible get a spot of honor: stop by the Mar Vista Time Travel Mart to see

On November 30, 2012, we celebrated the grand opening of 826LA in Mar Vista with music, comedy, and lots of ice cream. To commemorate this momentous occasion, calligrapher and Volunteer of the Month Molly Suber Thorpe created a special keepsake for 826LA. Using ink handmade from walnuts, Molly elegantly wrote the names of generous donors who helped make the opening possible on an antique player piano scroll. This gracefully wrought list compiles founding supporters who will have their names displayed forever in the Mar Vista Time Travel Mart.

We are thrilled to share some photos of Molly’s work with you here. For more information about Molly and to see other examples of her calligraphy, visit www.plurabellecalligraphy.com.
