West Adams Prep hosts the Great Los Angeles Personal Statement Day

826 centers are holding large-scale personal statement workshop days throughout the fall.

Always busy, our counterparts up in San Francisco brought essay help to a huge number of students who visited Mission High School on a weekend. We were excited to read about 826 Valencia’s success.

826 Boston held a similar event with a bunch of community partners, thrillingly entitled “College Essay Boot Camp”! Their boot camp blog has some amazing pictures, and students all over Boston are now in a better position to apply to select universities thanks to friendly tutors.

826DC had similar night classes for the high school crowd. And up north, the whizzes at 826 Seattle want to continue their tradition of holding a Personal Statement Writing Marathon for a second year. They’re only a few days away from setting up show in a local high school and making that happen.

We’re just over two weeks away from our own morning of action, the fall’s Great Los Angeles Personal Statement Day. Holding a massive day of help at West Adams Preparatory High School, one of our in-school project partners, we’re going to see hundreds of kids and volunteers coming together to accomplish the seemingly-impossible: going from nothing to a full college essay in a single session.
